{"id":10988,"date":"2018-04-18T05:59:03","date_gmt":"2018-04-18T09:59:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/whamit.mit.edu\/?p=10988"},"modified":"2018-04-18T10:37:28","modified_gmt":"2018-04-18T14:37:28","slug":"mit-at-wscla-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ling-phil.mit.edu\/whamit\/2018\/04\/18\/mit-at-wscla-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"MIT at WSCLA 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/aix1.uottawa.ca\/~asalanov\/WSCLA\/en\/index.html\">WSCLA 2018<\/a> (The Workshop on Structure and Constituency in Languages of the Americas) was held at the University of Ottawa on April 13-15, 2018.<\/p>\n<p>A contingent of MIT students and alumni studying the languages of the Americas participated in the conference:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/web.mit.edu\/yuanm\/www\/\">Michelle Yuan<\/a><\/strong> (fifth year student) gave a talk on <a href=\"http:\/\/aix1.uottawa.ca\/~asalanov\/WSCLA\/abstracts\/Yuan.pdf\">Last Resort case licensing in Inuktitut<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The conference was organized by <a href=\"http:\/\/aix1.uottawa.ca\/~asalanov\/\">Andres Salanova<\/a> (PhD &#8216;2007). Among other participants there were <a href=\"http:\/\/linguistics.berkeley.edu\/~nbbaier\/\">Nico Baier<\/a> (former visiting student), <a href=\"https:\/\/people.ucsc.edu\/~mtoosarv\/\">Maziar Toosarvandani<\/a> (former postdoc), <a href=\"http:\/\/usp-br.academia.edu\/KarinVivanco\">Karin Vivanco<\/a> (former visiting student), and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gpythomas.com\/\">Guillaume Thomas<\/a> (PhD &#8216;2012).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WSCLA 2018 (The Workshop on Structure and Constituency in Languages of the Americas) was held at the University of Ottawa on April 13-15, 2018.
