David is one of 12 professors selected for the new SHASS Faculty Fellows cohort:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>During his fellowship, <span class=\"text-token-text-primary cursor-text rounded-sm\" data-placeholder-token=\"true\">[David Pesetsky will]<\/span> investigate why there\u0092s more than one kind of clause in the world\u0092s languages. While linguists and researchers assume that clauses in most of the world\u0092s languages come in different flavors, finite and infinitival, gerunds, and so on, they don\u0092t yet know why.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The fellowship supports research and writing across the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences.
