On May 11, there was a workshop on Meaning and Distribution at UMD as well. MIT was represented at both!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/people.ucsc.edu\/~panand\/\"><strong>Pranav Anand<\/strong><\/a> (PhD &#8216;06) was an invited speaker at SALT, and spoke on <em>Facts, alternatives, and alternative facts<\/em>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/web.stanford.edu\/~bclevin\/\"><strong>Beth Levin<\/strong><\/a> (PhD &#8216;83 EECS) was an invited speaker at the workshop, and spoke on <a href=\"http:\/\/lingsite.org\/salt27\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/LEVIN-TheElasticityOfVerbMeaningRevisited.pdf\"><em>The Elasticity of Verb Meaning Revisited<\/em><\/a>.
